In paragraph 5 of its resolution 1995/37 B the Commission on Human Rights invited the Special Rapporteur to examine questions concerning torture directed primarily against women and children and conditions conducive to such torture and to make appropriate recommendations concerning the prevention of gender specific forms of Torture and the torture of children.

64. Sweden noted the continued widespread use of Torture and the existing impunity for crimes against journalists despite improvements to the legislation.
64- ولاحظت السويد استمرار ممارسة التعذيب على نطاق واسع وظاهرة الإفلات من العقاب على الجرائم المرتكبة في حق الصحفيين رغم التحسينات المدخلة على التشريعات.

It was concerned at legislative shortcomings, alleged intimidation of persons reporting acts of Torture and the lack of witness-protection mechanisms.
