As indicated above, during the review of the ESCAP publications programme for the biennium 1998–1999, a number of member and associate member Governments of the Commission, particularly the least developed, landlocked and island developing States, expressed serious concern over the shift in the mode of information dissemination from the traditional publications to electronic issuance, namely, the Internet.
