The Special Rapporteur welcomes the achievements of the Tripartite Core Group, established in May 2008 by the Government of Myanmar, ASEAN and the United Nations, in its relief efforts.

37. On 9 February 2009, the Tripartite Core Group launched the Post-Nargis Response and Preparedness Plan, a three-year plan to guide recovery efforts following Cyclone Nargis.
