Mr. DE MOURA (Brazil), speaking on behalf of the States members of the Common Market of the Southern Cone (MERCOSUR), as well as Bolivia and Chile, said that the agenda for development should reaffirm the role of the United Nations in the field of development at a time when there were pressures, especially for budgetary cuts, so as to concentrate the work of the United Nations on matters relating to peacekeeping and international security.
٦٨ - السيد دي مورا )البرازيل(: تكلم بالنيابة عن البلدان اﻷعضاء في السوق المشتركة للمخروط الجنوبي، وكذلك بالنيابة عن بوليفيا وشيلي، وقال إنه يرى أن خطة التنمية هذه يجب أن تعيد تأكيد دور اﻷمم المتحدة في ميدان التنمية في الوقت الذي تمارس فيه ضغوط، ولا سيما على صعيد الميزانية، لكي يكون عمل المنظمة متمحورا حول المسائل المتصلة بالمحافظة على السلام واﻷمن الدوليين.
