The Council welcomed the report of the Secretary-General (E/1993/90) and reaffirmed that General Assembly resolution 46/182 of 19 December 1991 was the basis for strengthening the coordination of humanitarian assistance of the United Nations system with regard to natural disasters and other emergencies.
