The General Assembly, in its resolution 53/208 C of 18 December 1998, stressed “the need for the continuous development, maintenance and enrichment of United Nations Web sites, with a view to achieving equal treatment of the six official languages on those Web sites”.
وقد شددت الجمعية العامة، في قرارها ٥٣/٢٠٨ جيم المؤرخ ١٨ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ١٩٩٨، على " ضرورة تنمية وصيانة وإثراء مواقع اﻷمم المتحدة على الشبكة العالمية بهدف تحقيق معاملة متساوية للغات الرسمية الست في هذه المواقع " .

1 - توافر الوثائق في مواقع الأمم المتحدة على شبكة الإنترنت

The view was expressed that for simultaneous availability in all languages on United Nations Web sites to be timely substantial resources would be required.
وأُعرب عن رأي مفاده أنه ستلزم موارد ضخمة لإتاحة الوثائق على مواقع الأمم المتحدة على شبكة الإنترنت في حينها بجميع اللغات.

46. The development of the United Nations Web sites in all official languages of the Organization was an important goal for the Group of 77 and China, which appreciated the efforts undertaken by the Secretary-General on that matter and welcomed his reports (A/AC.198/1999/6 and A/AC.198/1999/9).
46 - واسترسل قائلا إن تطوير مواقع الأمم المتحدة على شبكة الإنترنت بلغات المنظمة الرسمية كافة هو أمر هام بالنسبة لمجموعة الـ 77 والصين اللتين تقران بما يبذله الأمين العام من جهود في هذا الميدان، وترحبان بتقريريه A/AC.198/1999/6 و A/AC.198/1999/9.
