2. The vacancy for Vice-Chairman of the International Civil Service Commission will occur on 1 January 2010.

The Acting President: In paragraph 10 (c) of its report, the Fifth Committee further recommends that the General Assembly designate Mr. Eugeniusz Wyzner as Vice-Chairman of the International Civil Service Commission for a four-year term of office beginning on 1 January 2003.
الرئيس بالنيابة (تكلم بالانكليزية): توصي اللجنة الخامسة أيضا في الفقرة 10 (ج) من تقريرها بأن تعيـِّن الجمعية العامة السيد يوجنيوس وايزنر نائبا لرئيس لجنة الخدمة المدنية الدولية لفترة عمل مدتها أربع سنوات تبدا في 1 كانون الثاني/يناير 2003.

3. The Government of Germany has put forth a candidate for the position of Vice-Chairman of the International Civil Service Commission.
٣ - وقدمت حكومة ألمانيا الاتحادية مرشّحاً لمنصب نائب رئيس لجنة الخدمة المدنية الدولية.

4. The Governments of Germany, Italy and Poland have put forth candidates for the position of Vice-Chairman of the International Civil Service Commission.

The Vice-Chairman of the International Civil Service Commission introduced the report of that Commission (A/64/30 (SUPP), A/64/30/Corr.1 (SUPP) and A/64/30/Corr.2).

9. The Fifth Committee then proceeded to vote, by secret ballot, on the candidates now proposed for designation as Vice-Chairman of the International Civil Service Commission.

46. Mr. Wyzner (Vice-Chairman of the International Civil Service Commission) introduced the thirtieth annual report of the International Civil Service Commission (ICSC) (A/59/30, vol. I and II) on behalf of the Chairman of the Commission.

8. At the same meeting, the Chairman of the Committee informed the Committee that the Secretariat had received a note verbale, dated 2 November 2006, from the Permanent Mission of Italy to the United Nations, informing it that the Government had withdrawn the candidature of Gian Luigi Valenza for designation to the post of Vice-Chairman of the International Civil Service Commission.

The Committee had before it a document (A/C.5/53/10/Add.3) informing the Secretary-General that the Governments of Argen-tina, Germany and Poland had nominated candidates to fill the unexpired term of office of Vice-Chairman of the International Civil Service Commission.

Having obtained the required majority of votes, the Committee decided to recommend to the General Assembly the appointment of Mr. Eugeniusz Wyzner (Poland) to fill the remainder of the term of office of the Vice-Chairman of the International Civil Service Commission beginning on the date of appointment by the General Assembly and ending on 31 December 2002.
وإذ حصل السيد أوجينيوس فيزنر )بولندا( على أغلبية اﻷصوات المطلوبة فقد قررت اللجنة أن توصي الجمعية العامة بتعيينه لشغل منصب نائب رئيس لجنة الخدمة المدنية الدولية في الفترة المتبقية من مدة السيد فيغيغا التي بدأت بتعيين الجمعية العامة له وتنتهي في ١٣ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ٢٠٠٢.

Mr. Stöckl (Vice-Chairman of the International Civil Service Commission), introducing the report of the International Civil Service Commission (ICSC) for 2009 (A/64/30), said that ICSC had reviewed separation payments, including termination indemnity, repatriation grant and death grant, with a view to streamlining practices in the common system.

Mr. Stöckl (Vice-Chairman of the International Civil Service Commission), responding to the question raised by the representative of Bangladesh, said that several organizations within the common system had never used permanent contracts and had indicated that they would be reluctant to use continuing appointments, for a number of reasons.

30. Having obtained the required majority, Mr. Stöckl (Germany) was recommended for designation as Vice-Chairman of the International Civil Service Commission for a four-year term beginning on 1 January 2007.
30 - نظرا لحصول السيد ستوكل (ألمانيا) على الأغلبية المطلوبة فقد تمت التوصية بتعيينه نائبا لرئيس لجنة الخدمة المدنية الدولية لمدة أربع سنوات تبدأ في 1 كانون الثاني/يناير 2007.

Having obtained the required majority of votes, the Committee decided to recommend to the General Assembly the designation of Mr. Wolfgang Stockl as Vice-Chairman of the International Civil Service Commission for a term of office beginning on 1 January 2007 and expiring on 31 December 2009.
ونظرا إلى حصول السيد وولفغانغ شتوكل، على أغلبية الأصوات المطلوبة، قررت اللجنة أن توصي الجمعية العامة باختياره نائبا لرئيس لجنة الخدمة المدنية الدولية لفترة ولاية تبدأ في 1 كانون الثاني/يناير 2007 وتنتهي في 31 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2009.

30. Mr. Stöckl (Germany) was recommended for designation as Vice-Chairman of the International Civil Service Commission for a four-year term beginning on 1 January 2010.
