The Universal Periodic Review Voluntary Trust Fund to Facilitate the participation of States established by the Council in its resolution 6/17 should be strengthened and operationalized in order to encourage a significant participation of developing countries, particularly least developing countries and small island developing States, in their review.

In that regard, Malaysia notes with appreciation the recommendation that the Universal Periodic Review Voluntary Trust Fund to Facilitate the participation of States, established by Human Rights Council resolution 6/17, should be strengthened and operationalized to encourage significant participation of developing countries, particularly the least developed countries and small island developing States, in their reviews.
