4. The Chairman said that the Group of Asian States, the Group of Eastern European States and the Group of Western European and Other States had nominated respectively Ms. Ali (Syrian Arab Republic), Ms. Tomič (Slovenia) and Ms. Carvalho (Portugal) for the posts of Vice-Chairmen.

The Committee was also informed that, following the resignations of Mr. Pierre Charasse of France, Mr. Mario Duarte of Portugal and Mr. Mark Gaillard of Canada from their positions as vice-chairmen, the Group of Western European and Other States had respectively endorsed Ms. Marie-France André of Belgium, Mr. Henrik Salander of Sweden and Mr. Robert McDougall of Canada, to replace them.

He had been informed that the Group of Latin American and Caribbean States had nominated Mr. Böhlke (Brazil) for the post of Vice-Chairman and that the Group of Western European and Other States had nominated Mr. Janssens de Bisthoven (Belgium) for the post of Rapporteur.
