In its assessment of the status of disaster reduction midway into the Decade, the Yokohama Strategy for a Safer World noted, inter alia, that:

Recognizing that the Hyogo Framework for Action complements the Yokohama Strategy for a Safer World: Guidelines for Natural Disaster Prevention, Preparedness and Mitigation and its Plan of Action,

1. Support implementation of the Yokohama Strategy for a Safer World: Guidelines for Natural Disaster Prevention, Preparedness and Mitigation, and mainstream vulnerability analysis and hazard-mapping into all development policies;
1 - دعم تنفيذ استراتيجية يوكوهاما من أجل عالم أكثر أمنا: مبادئ توجيهية لدرء الكوارث والتأهب لها وتخفيف حدتها وإدماج تحليل قابلية التعرض لها ورسم خرائط لمناطق الخطر في جميع السياسات الإنمائية؛

The Conference, held at Yokohama, Japan, from 23 to 27 May 1994, adopted the Yokohama Strategy for a Safer World: Guidelines for Natural Disaster Prevention, Preparedness and Mitigation.
واعتمد المؤتمر الذي عقد في يوكوهاما باليابان في الفترة من ٣٢ إلى ٧٢ أيار/مايو ٤٩٩١ استراتيجية يوكوهاما من أجل عالم أكثر أمنا: مبادئ توجيهية لاتقاء الكوارث الطبيعية والتأهب لها وتخفيف حدتها.

" 3. Commends the work of the International Framework of Action for the International Decade for Natural Disaster Reduction, in particular its contribution to the implementation of the Yokohama Strategy for a Safer World and the Plan of Action contained therein;

Noting also that the Yokohama Strategy for a Safer World calls for promoting and strengthening subregional, regional and international cooperation in activities to reduce natural and other related disasters through prevention, mitigation and preparedness measures,

The Conference adopted the Yokohama Strategy for a Safer World: Guidelines for Natural Disaster Prevention, Preparedness and Mitigation, containing the appeal, the principles, the strategy, and the plan of action, and the Yokohama Message, which are annexed to the present note.
