Within the Global Forum on Migration and Development there has been an increasing interest in the human rights dimensions of international migration, with specific discussions dedicated to this issue at the second meeting of the Global Forum, held in Manila in October 2008, and at the upcoming third meeting of the Global Forum to be held in Athens from 4 to 5 November 2009.
