21- تناشد جميع أطراف النزاع في بوروندي العمل بطريقة بناءة مع الوسطاء الدوليين، وتؤيد بالتالي الجهود التي يبذلها رئيس غابون، السيد بونغو، ونائب رئيس جنوب أفريقيا، السيد زوما، من أجل الإسراع في عقد اتفاق لوقف إطلاق النار بين الحكومة الانتقالية والمجموعات المسلحة؛

Through the sanctions, conceived of as a response to the military coup of 25 July 1996, those States sought the restoration of the National Assembly, the re-legalization of political parties, and immediate and unconditional negotiations with all parties to the conflict in Burundi.
