May I conclude by urging the international community that, as we enter the new millennium, the nations of the world must recommit themselves to the principles of the Charter of the United Nations.
اسمحوا لي أن أختتم كلمتي بأن أحث المجتمع الدولي، ونحن على أعتاب ألفية جديدة، بضرورة أن تلتزم جميع دول العالم من جديد بمبادئ ميثاق اﻷمم المتحدة.

May I conclude by stating that the Government of the Kingdom of Swaziland associates itself with the Ideal, as it coincides with its age-old principle of mutual coexistence.
واسمحوا لي أن أختتم كلمتي مبينا أن حكومة مملكة سوازيلند تلزم نفسها بالمثل اﻷعلى اﻷولمبي الذي يتوافق مع مبدئها القديم المنادي بالتعايش المشترك.

A final point before I conclude is that there is the impression that our failure to address substantive disarmament and international security issues is due to procedural flaws and inherent inefficiency in the disarmament machinery.
وثمة نقطة أخيرة قبل أن أختتم كلمتي وهي أن هناك انطباعا بأن فشلنا في معالجة المسائل الموضوعية في مجالي نزع السلاح والأمن الدولي يعود إلى العيوب الإجرائية وعدم الكفاءة الكامنة في آلية نزع السلاح.

I think that it should therefore come as no surprise if I conclude by reiterating our commitment to negotiations on a fissile material cut-off treaty.
ولذلك أعتقد أنه لن يكون مستغرباً أن أختتم كلمتي بالتأكيد على التزامنا بالمفاوضات بشأن عقد معاهدة لوقف إنتاج المواد الانشطارية.

May I conclude by commending the Department for Disarmament Affairs, under the able and dynamic leadership of Under-Secretary-General Jayantha Dhanapala, for its important and indispensable work in the disarmament agenda of the United Nations.
واسمحوا لي أن أختتم كلمتي بالثناء على إدارة شؤون نزع السلاح، تحت القيادة الدينامية والمقتدرة لوكيل الأمين العام جايانتا دانابالا، على ما قامت به من عمل هام ولا غنى عنه في جدول أعمال الأمم المتحدة لنزع السلاح.

Before I conclude, I would like to point out that the recent announcement by the United States President that the United States will not deploy NMD for the time being does not at all mean that the NMD plan has been abandoned.
وأود قبل أن أختتم كلمتي أن أوضح بأن الإعلان الذي صدر مؤخراً عن رئيس الولايات المتحدة بأن الولايات المتحدة لن تقوم في الوقت الحاضر بوزع نظام دفاعي وطني مضاد للقذائف لا يعني على الاطلاق أن الولايات المتحدة قد تخلت عن تنفيذ برنامج هذا النظام.

May I conclude by urging the international community, particularly the developed countries, to continue to assist the developing countries in their fight against the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
واسمحوا لي أن أختتم كلمتي بحث المجتمع الدولي، لا سيما البلدان المتقدمة النمو، على مواصلة مساعدة الدول النامية في مكافحتها لوباء الفيروس/الإيدز.

May I conclude with a brief expression of appreciation and congratulations to all the members of the Council for their contributions over the last year, and particularly to those whose elected terms conclude at the end of December: Argentina, Canada, Malaysia, Namibia and the Netherlands.

I would like to conclude my address by offering a quote from one of Mr. Nitobe's lectures which reflects my own view on the evolving bonds between Japan and the international community:
