8. In the course of the Meeting and related consultations, the Coordinator discerned the following trends that may inform and guide future work on victim assistance under Protocol V:

The need to collect reliable and relevant data in respect of victims in accordance with Action #2 of the Plan of Action was frequently raised, as was the need to ensure synergy between efforts under Protocol V and related instruments to assist survivors.

1. The submission of national annual reports continues to serve as the central mechanism for promoting transparency under Protocol V. In support of this mechanism, at the Seventh Conference, High Contracting Parties agreed:

27. During the course of the meeting the Conference heard presentations by Ukraine on the topic of Cooperation and assistance, and requests for assistance titled " Ukraine-UN Cooperation under Protocol V to the CCW " .

5. Bearing in mind the fruitful discussions and the results of the work undertaken under Protocol V during the course of the year, the Coordinator recommends to the Second Conference of the High Contracting Parties to Protocol V to take the following decisions:
