ونحن نؤيد ونشجع استمرار جهود الشعبين الاسرائيلي والفلسطيني من أجل بناء السلام والحرية والوئام بينهما.

Peace, which until then had been just a promise and a challenge, was thus confirmed as the clear and unequivocal choice of the Israeli and Palestinian peoples.

4. Upon the execution of the Declaration of Principles, the Israeli and Palestinian delegations will immediately commence negotiations on a detailed plan for the transfer of authority on the above offices in accordance with the above understandings.
٤ - لدى تنفيذ إعلان المبادئ، سيبدأ الوفدان الاسرائيلي والفلسطيني على الفور مفاوضات بشأن خطة تفصيلية لنقل السلطة الى المكاتب السالفة الذكر وفقا للتفاهمات السالفة الذكر.

It is agreed that, upon the entry into force of the Declaration of Principles, the Israeli and Palestinian delegations will exchange the names of the individuals designated by them as members of the Joint Israeli-Palestinian Liaison Committee.
من المتفق عليه أن الوفدين الاسرائيلي والفلسطيني سيقومان، لدى سريان إعلان المبادئ، بتبادل أسماء اﻷفراد الذين سمﱠاهُما الوفدان لعضوية لجنة الارتباط الاسرائيلية - الفلسطينية المشتركة.

Regarding the Middle East peace process, it hoped that reconciliation between the Israeli and Palestinian peoples would help to create conditions in which full respect for human rights could be secured.
٣٩ - وفيما يتعلق بعملية السلام في الشرق اﻷوسط، أعرب عن أمله في أن يساعد الصلح بين الشعبين الاسرائيلي والفلسطيني على تهيئة ظروف يمكن فيها ضمان احترام حقوق اﻹنسان احتراما تامـا.

After the Israeli and Palestinian sides had agreed that Israel would release the male and female detainees in two phases, Israel went back on its agreement and began to obstruct the release of the detainees and, in particular, of a number of female Palestinian detainees.
فبعد اتفاق الجانبين الاسرائيلي والفلسطيني على أن تطلق اسرائيل سراح المعتقلين والمعتقلات على مرحلتين، تراجعت اسرائيل عن اتفاقها واخذت تضع العقبات في طريق الافراج عن المعتقلين، وعلى وجه الخصوص عن عدد من المعتقلات الفلسطينيات.

6. The Presidency’s conclusions of the Berlin European Council (24 and 25 March 1999) reaffirmed the support of the European Union for a negotiated settlement in the Middle East peace process to reflect the principle of land for peace and to ensure the security, both collective and individual, of the Israeli and Palestinian peoples.
٦ - أما النتائج التي خلصت إليها رئاسة المجلس اﻷوروبي المعقود في برلين )٢٤ و ٢٥ آذار/ مارس ١٩٩٩(، فقد أكدت من جديد تأييد الاتحاد اﻷوروبي للتوصل إلى تسوية تفاوضية في عملية السلام في الشرق اﻷوسط، تعكس مبدأ اﻷرض مقابل السلام وتكفل اﻷمن، بوجهيه الجماعي والفردي معا، للشعبين الاسرائيلي والفلسطيني.

We should not forget that General Assembly resolution 181 (II), which Israel considers the legal basis for its existence, decided to consider Jerusalem a separate international entity. In addition to this, we must remember that both the Israeli and Palestinian sides agreed, in the 1993 Declaration of Principles, which is binding on both parties, to negotiate the status of Jerusalem in the second phase of negotiations.
وعلينـــا ألا ننســـى أن قرار الجمعية العامة ١٨١ )د - ٢(، الذي تعتبره اسرائيل اﻷســـاس القانوني لوجودها، قرر اعتبار القدس كيانا دوليــا منفصلا وباﻹضافة الى ذلك كله، لا بد من اﻹشارة الى أن الجانبين الاسرائيلي والفلسطيني قد اتفقا في إعلان المبادئ لعام ٩٩٣١ الملزم للطرفين على التفاوض حول موضوع القدس في المرحلة الثانية للمفاوضات.
