In 2010 the Coordinator organized side events positioning and visioning the participation of indigenous and locals peoples in the creation of policies on reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries, and also focusing on how these forest dwellers have contributed to conservation and have therefore contributed to avoiding climate change.
