وقد أُبرم اتفاق بشأن إنشاء مركز للتعاون الصناعي الدولي تابع لليونيدو في كازاخستان، يتولى تقديم الدعم في مختلف المجالات المتوافقة مع الأولويات الوطنية، بما فيها التحديث الصناعي ورصد الأنشطة، وهي أمور تُثمِّن كازاخستان بصفة خاصة ما تقدمه اليونيدو بشأنها من مشورة ونقل للمعارف.

The role of the Ministry of Industry had been redefined to ensure that it became an industrial policy centre for the promotion of all branches of industry; it had been restructured accordingly as part of an industrial modernization programme aimed at increasing industry's competitive capacity, regardless of the form of ownership concerned.
وقد بدأ الإعداد لوضع رؤية جديدة لدور ومهام وزارة الصناعة في سورية ووضعها موضع التنفيذ، بحيث تتحوّل إلى وزارة سياسات صناعية، تعمل من أجل تعزيز القدرة التنافسية للصناعة السورية بجميع فروعها؛ وقد تمّ تجسيد هذه الرؤية والدور الجديد من خلال مشروع إعادة هيكلة الوزارة وبرنامج التحديث الصناعي الذي يهدف إلى زيادة القدرة التنافسية للصناعة، بصرف النظر عن أشكال الملكية فيها.

The essence of the UNIDO SME Programme is a focused contribution towards meeting the challenge of SMEs to achieve their full potential and maximize their contribution to industrial modernization, to upgrade their productivity and competitiveness through continuous learning and product/process innovation.
ويركز برنامج اليونيدو للمشاريع الصغيرة والمتوسطة أساسا على المساهمة في مجابهة التحدي الذي يواجه المشاريع الصغيرة والمتوسطة فيما يتعلق باستغلال إمكاناتها بشكل كامل وإسهامها إلى الحد اﻷقصى في عملية التحديث الصناعي ورفع مستوى إنتاجيتها وقدرتها على التنافس من خلال التعليم المستمر وابتكار المنتجات/العمليات.
