4. Pursuant to the provisions of paragraph 3 of General Assembly resolution 60/249, the Secretary-General sought commitment authority from the Advisory Committee to meet the interim activities related to the peace process in Nepal.

On 12 September 2014, the Secretary-General sought the concurrence of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions with regard to entering into commitments for the requirements for 2014 in the amount of $750,400 under section 24, Human rights, under the provision of General Assembly resolution 68/249 on unforeseen and extraordinary expenses.

2. To comply with those requests, the Secretary-General sought the assistance of the Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS) to conduct a review of United Nations departments, offices, funds, programmes and missions (the offices) regarding, among other things, the participation of management in investigations.
