In paragraph 15 of its resolution 1314 (2000), the Security Council indicates its willingness to consider assessing the potential unintended consequences of sanctions on children. The Government of Iraq would like in this regard to highlight the consequences the embargo has had for the civilian population and particularly for vulnerable groups such as women and children.
