62. Iraq has suffered many waves of internal displacement throughout its recent past as a result of conflict, sectarian violence, and forced population movements associated with policies of the former regime - with an estimated 1.55 million persons remaining in displacement since 2006.
62- عانى العراق في الماضي القريب من الكثير من موجات التشريد الداخلي نتيجة للنزاع، والعنف الطائفي، والحركات السكانية القسرية المرتبطة بسياسات النظام السابق - ويُقدر أن هناك 1.55 مليون شخص ما زالوا مهجرين منذ عام 2006.

286 - وجرى الإعراب عن رأي مفاده أن اتقاء مسببات التحركات السكانية القسرية ينبغي، على النحو المذكور في الفقرة 20-4 (أ) من الخطة البرنامجية المقترحة لفترة السنتين، أن يتولاه الآخرون الذين ربما يملكون ولاية تخولهم ذلك.

These waves of forced displacement are often analysed as having taken place in three periods, namely: forced population movements under the former Ba'ath Government; displacement caused by armed conflict from the March 2003 invasion until the February 2006 Samarra bombing; and from February 2006 onwards - with the period from 2006 to 2008 marked by sectarian violence.
