10. On 19 April 2005, the Secretary-General submitted to the Security Council the report (S/2005/254) the Council had requested by its resolution 1570 (2004), in which he informed the Council that, notwithstanding an improvement in the political climate in the region, there was still no agreement to overcome the deadlock between the parties and to enable the people of Western Sahara to exercise their right to self-determination.
10 - وفي 19 نيسان/أبريل 2005 قدم الأمين العام إلى مجلس الأمن تقريرا (S/2005/254) كان قد طلبه في قراره 1570 (2004) أبلغ فيه المجلس أنه بالرغم من التحسن الذي طرأ على المناخ السياسي في المنطقة فلا يوجد اتفاق للتغلب على الطريق المسدود الذي يواجه الطرفين لتمكين شعب الصحراء الغربية من ممارسة حقه في تقرير المصير.

48. Nicaragua also stood in solidarity with the struggle of the Sahrawi people for self-determination and independence, and still hoped that the negotiations between the parties -- the Saharan Arab Democratic Republic and Morocco -- would continue without preconditions, so that the people of Western Sahara could exercise their right to self-determination.
