Improved medical assistance is provided to victims, as part of the amended Act on the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Protection of Victims, and, in order to prevent recurrences of violence, various special treatment programmes for offenders are conducted.
وتقدَّم مساعدة طبية أفضل للضحايا في إطار قانون منع العنف المنزلي وحماية الضحايا المنقَّح، وتوفَّر للمجرمين أنواع شتى من برامج المعالجة الخاصة للحيلولة دون تكرر أعمال العنف.

In the same year, the Law on the Prevention of Domestic Violence and the Protection of Victims had come into force.

It urged Cambodia to adopt the Prakas of the Law on Prevention of Domestic Violence and Protection of the Victims (2005) and set up a child protection system, including a system for reporting and addressing child abuse.

The Law for the Prevention of Spousal Violence and the Protection of Victims had come into force only a year earlier; it currently covered only spouses, but it had been suggested that its scope should be extended to include widows and former spouses.

The amended Act on the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Protection of Victims and Others effective from May 2012 gives police officers, when dispatched to the scene of domestic violence, the authority to enter and investigate the crime scene to protect victims.

21. The Act on Prevention of Domestic Violence and Protection of Victims (amended on May 8, 2009) obligates the central and local governments to provide shelter to victims of domestic violence who have left home to escape violence by giving them access to public rental housing on a priority basis.
21- إن القانون المتعلق بمنع العنف المنزلي وحماية الضحايا (عدل في 8 أيار/مايو 2009) يوجب على الحكومة المركزية والحكومات المحلية توفير المأوى لضحايا العنف المنزلي الذين يغادرون بيوتهم هرباً من العنف وذلك من خلال تمكينهم على سبيل الأولوية من استئجار سكن.

It referred to two amendments to the Special Act on Punishment of Domestic Violence in 2002 and the Act on the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Protection of Victims in 2004 that expand the role of prosecutors, authorizing them to issue temporary detention orders against perpetrators, and provides medical assistance to victims to the extent that the Government recovers medical fees in case the perpetrator lacks financial means.

With reference to paragraphs 20 and 51 of the report and paragraph 18 of the Committee's concluding observations, please provide statistical data, disaggregated by sex, indicating the results/impact of measures taken by the State party in the implementation of the " Act on the prevention of Domestic Violence and Protection of Victims " and the " 3rd Basic Plan for Women Policies (2008-2012) " .

10. Other domestic measures in support of children included the enactment in 2005 of a law on the prevention of Domestic Violence and the Protection of Victims and the setting up of a national council to coordinate implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

40. While noting that the State party has adopted various legislation to prohibit corporal punishment, the Committee is however concerned that article 1045 of the Civil Code allows a " parental power holder to personally discipline the child to the extent necessary " and that article 8 of the Law on the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Protection of the Victims implicitly authorizes corporal punishment of children for disciplinary purposes.
