The representative of Brazil, Ronaldo Mota Sardenberg, led a Security Council mission to Haiti from 13 to 16 April 2005, in conjunction with the Ad Hoc Advisory Group on Haiti of the Economic and Social Council.

In a letter dated 31 March 2005, the President of the Security Council informed the Secretary-General that members of the Security Council had decided to send a mission to Haiti from 13 to 16 April 2005, which would be led by Brazil, and would be held in conjunction with the mission of the Ad Hoc Advisory Group on Haiti of the Economic and Social Council.

Through the Ad Hoc Advisory Group on Haiti of the Economic and Social Council, my country enjoys the support of the Council and, recently, at the high-level substantive meeting held in Geneva last July, the Council extended the mandate of that group through July 2007, with the possibility of being renewed once more.
