Customary practices relating to resource use have been recognized by some countries and incorporated into statutory law in various ways, but such recognition is less likely in areas where indigenous and rural communities are marginalized and are poorly represented in national forums.
واعترفت بعض البلدان بالممارسات العرفية المتعلقة باستخدام الموارد وقامت بإدراجها في قانونها النظامي بطرق مختلفة ولكن يقل في الغالب مثل هذا الاعتراف في المناطق التي تكون فيها المجتمعات الأصلية والريفية مهمشة والتي يكون فيها تمثيلها في المحافل الوطنية ضعيفاً.
