30. The Special Rapporteur welcomes Commission resolution 2000/61 in which the Commission requested the SecretaryGeneral to appoint a Special Representative to report on the situation of human rights defenders in all parts of the world.

In paragraph 3 of this resolution, the Special Representative is requested to report on the situation of human rights defenders in all parts of the world and on possible means to enhance their protection in full compliance with the Declaration.

International Human Rights Day has traditionally been a date for commemorating the millions of human rights defenders around the world who struggle daily to protect and promote the rights of others as set up in the Universal Declaration.

The Commission on Human Rights, by resolution 2000/61, requested the Secretary-General to appoint, for a period of three years, a special representative who shall report on the situation of human rights defenders in all parts of the world and on possible means to enhance their protection in full compliance with the Declaration.

204. In its resolution 2000/61, the Commission requested the SecretaryGeneral to appoint, for a period of three years, a special representative who would report on the situation of human rights defenders in all parts of the world and on possible means to enhance their protection in full compliance with the Declaration; the main activities of the special representative would be:

After extensive discussion, the Commission on Human Rights, by its resolution 2000/61, requested the SecretaryGeneral to appoint, for a period of three years, a special representative who shall report on the situation of human rights defenders in all parts of the world and on possible means to enhance their protection in full compliance with the Declaration.

3. Requests the Secretary-General to appoint, for a period of three years, a special representative who shall report on the situation of human rights defenders in all parts of the world and on possible means to enhance their protection in full compliance with the Declaration; the main activities of the special representative shall be:

Commission on Human Rights resolution 2000/61 stipulates in paragraph 3 that the Special Representative on Human Rights Defenders " shall report on the situation of human rights defenders in all parts of the world and on possible means to enhance their protection in full compliance with the Declaration " .

By resolution 2000/61 of 26 April 2000,3 the Commission, inter alia, requested the Secretary-General to appoint, for a period of three years, a special representative who shall report on the situation of human rights defenders in all parts of the world and on possible means to enhance their protection in full compliance with the Declaration.

(d) In resolution 2000/61 entitled " Human rights defenders " , the Commission decided to request the Secretary-General to appoint, for a period of three years, a special representative who shall report on the situation of human rights defenders in all parts of the world and on possible means to enhance their protection;

In 2009, Human Rights First was instrumental in establishing a forum for human rights defender specialized mechanisms in intergovernmental organizations, including the United Nations Special Rapporteur, with the aim of better coordinating multilateral efforts to support human rights defenders around the world.
وفي عام 2009، قامت منظمة " حقوق الإنسان أولاً " بدور فعّال في إنشاء منتدى للآليات المتخصصة التي تدافع عن حقوق الإنسان في المنظمات الحكومية الدولية، بما يشمل المقرر الخاص للأمم المتحدة، وذلك بهدف تحسين تنسيق الجهود المتعددة الأطراف لدعم المدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان في جميع أنحاء العالم.

82. Her country remained concerned about repressive measures taken against human rights defenders around the world, including in the Islamic Republic of Iran and in the Russian Federation, and she asked if the Special Rapporteur had any plans to visit those countries.
82 - واختتمت كلمتها بقولها إن وفدها ما زال يشعر بالقلق إزاء التدابير القمعية المتخذة ضد المدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان في جميع أنحاء العالم، بما في ذلك في جمهورية إيران الإسلامية وفي الاتحاد الروسي، وتساءلت عما إذا كانت المقررة الخاصة لديها أي خطط لزيارة هذين البلدين.

49. Norway asked, while noting and appreciating the United Kingdom's strong engagement for human rights defenders around the world, whether the delegation could elaborate on the steps taken to implement the Declaration on the Right and Responsibility of Individuals, Groups and Organs of Society to Promote and Protect Universally Recognized Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.
49- ولاحظت النرويج مع التقدير التزام المملكة المتحدة التزاماً قوياً بمناصرة المدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان في جميع أنحاء العالم، فطلبت إلى وفد المملكة المتحدة أن يقدم شرحاً عما اتخذ من خطوات تنفيذاً للإعلان المتعلق بحق ومسؤولية الأفراد والجماعات وهيئات المجتمع في تعزيز وحماية حقوق الإنسان والحريات الأساسية المعترف بها عالمياً.
