ACHR added that, following the imposition of the state of emergency in November 2007, hundreds of opposition leaders and activists have been arrested or put under house arrest.
وأضاف المركز الآسيوي لحقوق الإنسان أنه تم في أعقاب فرض حالة الطوارئ في تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 2007 اعتقال المئات من قادة المعارضة والنشطاء أو وضعهم رهن الإقامة الجبرية.

27. ACHR noted that journalists work under constant threat of attack both from the security forces and militants.
27- وأشار المركز الآسيوي لحقوق الإنسان إلى أن الصحفيين يعملون في ظل خطر مستمر يتمثل في التعرض لاعتداءات من قبل قوات الأمن والمقاتلين.

ACHR noted that arbitrary arrests and illegal detentions are in violation of the constitutional guarantees for personal freedom [Article 19 (a)] and the right not to be arrested arbitrarily [Article (b)].
