In Latin America and the Caribbean, the questionnaire was discussed by the Working Group on Agricultural and Rural Statistics and arrangements were made to match up countries with different statistical capacities in order to give them the ability to support the assessment.

42. Latin America and the Caribbean. The sixth session of the Statistical Conference of the Americas, which was organized by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) in the Dominican Republic from 16 to 18 November 2011, decided to establish the Working Group on Agricultural and Rural Statistics for Latin America and the Caribbean and tasked it with the development of the regional plan and its implementation.
