It attempts to demonstrate that the impact of armed conflict on children cannot be fully understood without looking at the related effects on women, families and communities.

She supported the recommendations, especially those aimed at prohibiting the participation of children below the age of 18 in armed conflicts and at establishing a special representative of the Secretary-General with the mandate to study the impact of armed conflicts on children and to coordinate follow-up to the report.
وأعربت عن تأييدها للتوصيات التي قدمتها الخبيرة ولا سيما ما يتعلق منها بمنع مشاركة اﻷطفال الذين تقل أعمارهم عن ١٨ سنة في المنازعات المسلحة والتوصية المتعلقة بإنشاء وظيفة ممثل خاص لﻷمين العام مكلف خصيصا بدراسة تأثير المنازعات المسلحة على اﻷطفال وتنسيق متابعة التقرير المذكور أعلاه.

In that connection, her delegation was pleased to read, in the report of the Secretary-General on the study on the impact on children of armed conflict, that an inter-agency task force was meeting periodically in Geneva to coordinate an exchange of ideas and experiences among the relevant United Nations agencies and bodies.
