In " An Agenda for Peace " , Mr. Boutros Boutros-Ghali attaches great importance to preventive diplomacy in today's world, which coincides fully with our own view. From this lofty international rostrum, I wish to call upon the United Nations to strengthen further its peacemaking work, specifically in zones of emerging conflicts.
وفي التقرير " خطة للسلام " ، يعلق السيد بطرس بطرس غالي أهمية قصوى على الدبلوماسية الوقائية في عالمنا المعاصر، وهذا يتسق تماما مع وجهة نظرنا، وعن هذا المنبر الدولي السامي، أود أن أدعو اﻷمم المتحدة الى أن تعزز عملها في مجال صنع السلم، وخصوصا في مناطق النزاعات الناشئة.

It has always been here, in this international forum, that the Palestinian people have sought protection against arbitrary, inhuman and illegal Israeli actions.
إنّ تطلّعات الشعب الفلسطيني كانت، ولا تزال، تتّجه إلى المنبر الدولي هذا، لحمايته في فلسطين، من الممارسات التعسُّفية اللاإنسانية وغير القانونية، التي تنفِّذها الحكومات الإسرائيلية المتعاقبة ضده.

From this international forum, Syria would like once again to stress the great importance it attaches to maintaining the territorial integrity of Iraq. We call for relieving the suffering of the Iraqi people by lifting the economic sanctions that only affect the people.
ومن على هذا المنبر الدولي تود سوريا أن تؤكد من جديد حرصها الشديد على وحدة وسلامة الأراضي العراقية، وتدعو إلى رفع المعاناة عن العراق وإنهاء العقوبات الاقتصادية التي لم يدفع ثمنها إلا الشعب العراقي.

The Amsterdam Declaration on a Better Life for Future Generations, the only international forum to have addressed the issue of resource mobilization for population activities, should be refined in this respect, so as to provide the Cairo Conference with more precise estimates of the resources required over the next decade.
وينبغي في هذا الصدد تنقيح إعلان امستردام بشأن حياة أفضل لﻷجيال المقبلة، وهو المنبر الدولي الوحيد الذي تناول موضوع تعبئة الموارد ﻷغراض اﻷنشطة السكانية، ليتوافر لمؤتمر القاهرة مزيد من التقديرات الدقيقة بشأن الموارد اللازمة طوال العقد المقبل.

Accordingly, we would like from this international rostrum to call upon Israel — the State with which we have concluded a peace treaty — to do everything possible to build and consolidate confidence with the peoples of the region in general and the Palestinian people in particular.
وعليه، فإننا ومن هذا المنبر الدولي ندعو اسرائيل - الدولة التي عقدنـــا معها معاهدة السلام - أن تقوم بكل ما من شأنه بناء الثقة وتعزيزها مع شعوب المنطقة عامة والشعب الفلسطيني خاصة.
