3. Adopt comprehensive plans of action against violence against women and provide sufficient resources for the implementation of policy and the provision of adequately funded and accessible public services to help women who are victims of violence , including shelters, hotlines, housing, social services and child care.

The representative said that as part of the strategy for combating violence against women, the Government had promoted the passage of Act No. 24-97 on domestic violence in 1997, had carried out gender training programmes for staff of the Public Prosecutor's Office and the National Police and had established safe houses for women who were victims of violence.
