1. The General Assembly, in paragraph 7 of its resolution 43/181 of 20 December 1988, requested the Commission on Human Settlements, as the body designated to coordinate the implementation of the Global Strategy for Shelter to the Year 2000, to report biennially to the Assembly on progress made in its implementation.
١ - طلبت الجمعية العامة في الفقرة ٧ من قرارها ٤٣/١٨١ المؤرخ ٢٠ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ١٩٨٨، الى لجنة المستوطنات البشرية، بصفتها الوكالة التي عينت لتنسيق تنفيذ الاستراتيجية العالمية للمأوى حتى عام ٢٠٠٠، تقديم تقارير مرة كل سنتين الى الجمعية العامة عن التقدم المحرز في تنفيذها.

2. The present report is submitted to the General Assembly in pursuance of paragraph 6 of its resolution 39/148 H of 17 December 1984, and paragraph 6 of its resolution 45/62 G of 4 December 1990, in which the Director was invited to report annually to the Assembly on the activities carried out by the Institute.
