Depending on actions that may be decided on by the Security Council, the current approved appropriation for the United Nations Observer Mission in Angola (MONUA) may also need to be revised.

5. As indicated in paragraph 51 of the eighth report of the Secretary-General on United Nations Observer Mission in Sierra Leone (S/1999/1003), the civilian police component of UNAMSIL will consist of six police advisers.

12. Mr. TAKASU (Controller) said that commitment authority in respect of the United Nations Observer Mission in Liberia (UNOMIL) had lapsed at the end of September, but that the mandate had been extended through the end of November.

Upon request, the Advisory Committee was informed that the total unliquidated obligations of ONUSAL for the period of the inception of the Observer Mission to 31 March 1995 amount to $2,966,000.

21. Annex I to the present report sets out by budget line item the resources made available and the related expenditure for the Observer Mission for the period from 1 June to 30 November 1994.

42. In response to queries regarding procurement irregularities involving the United Nations Observer Mission in Angola (MONUA), he said that extensive discussions between the parties concerned and the Secretariat were proceeding, and that the Secretary-General would provide the requested report to the General Assembly at its fifty-fourth session.

The United Nations Observer Mission in El Salvador (ONUSAL), in particular, has played a central and indispensable role throughout the process of negotiating the peace accords, and is currently engaged in efforts to promote respect for human rights, to reform the judiciary and to address essential socio-economic issues.

1. The Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions recommends approval of the Secretary-General's proposals for the United Nations Observer Mission in Georgia (UNOMIG) for the period from 1 July 2008 to 30 June 2009 (see A/62/680).
1 - توصي اللجنة الاستشارية لشؤون الإدارة والميزانية بالموافقة على مقترحات الأمين العام المتعلقة ببعثة مراقبي الأمم المتحدة في جورجيا للفترة من 1 تموز/يوليه 2008 إلى 30 حزيران/يونيه 2009 (انظر A/62/680).

By the same resolution the Council decided that UNAMSIL would take over the substantive civilian and military components and functions as well as the assets of the United Nations Observer Mission in Sierra Leone (UNOMSIL), which had been established by the Council in resolution 1181 (1998) of 13 July 1998 and that the mandate of UNOMSIL should terminate immediately upon the establishment of UNAMSIL.
وقرر المجلس بموجب القرار ذاته أن تتولى البعثة الجوانب الفنية من العنصرين المدني والعسكري، وكذلك المهام والأصول المتعلقة ببعثة مراقبي الأمم المتحدة في سيراليون، التي أنشئت بموجب قرار المجلس 1181 (1998) المؤرخ 13 تموز/يوليه 1998، وأن تنتهي ولاية بعثة مراقبي الأمم المتحدة في سيراليون بمجرد إنشاء بعثة الأمم المتحدة في سيراليون.
