25. The Adaptation Committee is mindful of the work being carried out under the SBI on the implementation of the work programme on loss and damage.

12. Also requests the Subsidiary Body for Implementation to elaborate, at its thirty-eighth session, activities under the work programme on loss and damage, to further the understanding of and expertise on loss and damage associated with the adverse effects of climate change, taking into account the provisions contained in paragraph 7 above;
12- يطلب أيضاً إلى الهيئة الفرعية للتنفيذ أن تُعدّ، في دورتها التاسعة والثلاثين، أنشطة ضمن برنامج العمل المتعلق بالخسائر والأضرار لتعزيز فهم الخسائر والأضرار المرتبطة بالآثار الضارة المترتبة على تغير المناخ وتعزيز تحصيل الخبرة المتصلة بها، على أن تراعي الأحكام الواردة في الفقرة 7 أعلاه؛

The implementation of the work programme on loss and damage associated with climate change impacts in developing countries that are particularly vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate change;

The SBI considered the progress made on the implementation of the work programme on loss and damage, and noted the remaining work to be undertaken under this work programme.

II. Proceedings 5. The four expert meetings on a range of approaches to address loss and damage associated with the adverse effects of climate change took place in the context of thematic area 2 of the work programme on loss and damage.
5- عُقدت الاجتماعات الأربعة للخبراء، المنظّمة من أجل تحديد طائفة من نُهُج التصدي للخسائر والأضرار المرتبطة بالآثار الضارة الناجمة عن تغير المناخ، في سياق تناول المجال المواضيعي الثاني من برنامج العمل المتعلق بالخسائر والأضرار.

118. The SBI expressed its gratitude to the Government of Fiji for hosting the expert meeting referred to in decision 3/CP.18, paragraph 10(a), and to the Governments of Australia, Japan and Norway and the European Union for providing financial support for the implementation of activities under the work programme on loss and damage.
118- وأعربت عـن امتنانها لحكومة فيجي لاستضافتها اجتمـاع الخبـراء المشار إليه في الفقرة 10(أ) من المقرر 3/م أ-18()، ولحكومات أستراليا والنرويج واليابان والاتحاد الأوروبي لدعمها المالي لتنفيذ الأنشطة المدرجة في برنامج العمل المتعلق بالخسائر والأضرار.

81. The SBI considered the documents prepared for the session and noted that the outcomes of the workshop to identify challenges and gaps in the implementation of risk management approaches to the adverse effects of climate change, which took place in Lima, Peru, from 10 to 12 October 2011, provide useful inputs into the implementation of the work programme on loss and damage.
ولاحظت أن نتائج حلقة العمل التي عُهد إليها بتحديد الصعوبات والثغرات في مجال تنفيذ نُهج إدارة المخاطر المتصلة بالآثار الضارة لتغير المناخ، المعقودة في ليما، بيرو، في الفترة من 10 إلى 12 تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 2011، تقدم إسهامات مفيدة في تنفيذ برنامج العمل المتعلق بالخسائر والأضرار().

82. The SBI decided to recommend a draft decision on the work programme on loss and damage for adoption by the COP at its seventeenth session (for the text of the decision, see FCCC/SBI/2011/L.35/Add.1).
