At its substantive session of 1998, the Council adopted resolution 1998/46 on further measures for the restructuring and revitalization of the United Nations in the economic, social and related fields.
واتخذ المجلس في دورته الموضوعية لعام ١٩٩٨ القرار ١٩٩٨/٤٦ بشأن تدابير أخرى ﻹعادة تشكيل اﻷمم المتحدة وتنشيطها في الميدانين الاقتصادي والاجتماعي والميادين المتصلة بهما.

A first step in that direction had already been taken with the adoption of General Assembly resolution 50/227 on further measures for the restructuring and revitalization of the United Nations in the economic, social and related fields, under which a mechanism had been established to enable the Council to enhance the efficiency of its work and to focus its efforts on the achievement of tangible results.

Chapter II of the report contains information on the implementation of Assembly resolution 48/162 on further measures for the restructuring and revitalization of the United Nations in the economic, social and related fields, in which the Assembly called for a comprehensive review of the implementation of the resolution, as well as of decisions on financing, at its fiftieth session.
ويحتوي الفصل الثاني من التقرير على معلومات عن تنفيذ قرار الجمعية ٤٨/١٦٢ بشأن تدابير أخرى ﻹعادة تشكيل اﻷمم المتحدة وتنشيطها في الميدانين الاقتصادي والاجتماعي والميادين المتصلة بهما، الذي طلبت فيه الجمعية إجراء استعراض شامل لتنفيذ القرار، فضلا عن القرارات المتعلقة بالتمويل، في دورتها الخمسين.

1. General Assembly resolution 48/162 of 20 December 1993 on further measures for the restructuring and revitalization of the United Nations in the economic, social and related fields provides for a comprehensive review of the implementation of the resolution, as well as of decisions on financing, at the fiftieth session of the Assembly.
١ - ينص قرار الجمعية العامة ٨٤/١٦٢ المؤرخ ٠٢ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ١٩٩٣ بشأن تدابير أخرى ﻹعادة تشكيل اﻷمم المتحدة وتنشيطها في الميدانين الاقتصادي والاجتماعي والميادين المتصلة بهما على إجراء استعراض شامل لتنفيذ القرار فضلا عن المقررات المتعلقة بالتمويل، في الدورة الخمسين للجمعية.

General Assembly resolution 48/162 on further measures for the restructuring and revitalization of the United Nations in the economic, social and related fields addresses, among other things, the governing bodies of the United Nations development funds and programmes.
١٦-١٣ يتناول قرار الجمعية العامة ٤٨/١٦٢ بشأن تدابير أخرى لاعادة تشكيل اﻷمم المتحدة وتنشيطها في الميدانين الاقتصادي والاجتماعي والميادين المتصلة بهما، في جملة أمور، هيئات ادارة الصناديق والبرامج الانمائية التابعة لﻷمم المتحدة.

In accordance with paragraph 15, annex I, of Economic and Social Council resolution 1998/46 of 31 July 1998 on further measures for the restructuring and revitalization of the United Nations in the economic, social and related fields, the Committee comprised two sub-groups, one on energy and one on water resources.

Members will recall that at the 85th plenary meeting of its forty-eighth session, on 20 December 1993, the General Assembly adopted resolution 48/162 on “Further measures for the restructuring and revitalization of the United Nations in the economic, social and related fields”.

Reaffirming its resolutions 47/199 of 22 December 1992 on the triennial policy review of operational activities for development within the United Nations system and 48/162 of 20 December 1993 on further measures for the restructuring and revitalization of the United Nations in the economic, social and related fields,

In March 2004, the heads of the Ministry of Education of Kyrgyzstan, of the International Red Cross in Central Asia and of the National Red Crescent Society signed an agreement on further measures to organize the teaching of international humanitarian law in secondary schools and higher educational establishments in the Kyrgyz Republic in order to make provision for the training of professionals in international humanitarian law.
2 - وفي آذار/مارس 2004، وقَّع رؤساء وزارة التعليم في قيرغيزستان وجمعيات الصليب الأحمر الدولي في آسيا الوسطى وجمعية الهلال الأحمر الوطنية اتفاقا بشأن تدابير أخرى لتنظيم تدريس القانون الإنساني الدولي في المدارس الثانوية ومؤسسات التعليم العالي في جمهورية قيرغيزستان، من أجل اتخاذ التدابير لتدريب المتخصصين المهنيين في مجال القانون الإنساني الدولي.

Such proposals are to be aligned with the strategic plan of UN-Women as approved by the Executive Board and in compliance with annex 1 of General Assembly resolution 48/162 of 20 December 1993 on further measures for the restructuring and revitalization of the United Nations in the economic, social and related fields.

In annex I, paragraph 88, of its resolution 50/227 of 24 May 1996 on further measures for the restructuring and revitalization of the United Nations in the economic, social and related fields, the General Assembly indicated that the Economic and Social Council should schedule periodically a high-level meeting at a time proximate to the semi-annual meetings of the Breton Woods institutions.
وقد أشارت الجمعية العامة، في الفقرة ٨٨ من المرفق اﻷول لقرارها ٥٠/٢٢٧ المؤرخ ٢٤ أيار/مايو ١٩٩٧ بشأن تدابير أخرى ﻹعادة تشكيل اﻷمم المتحدة وتنشيطها في الميدانين الاقتصادي والاجتماعي والميادين المتصلة بهما، إلى أنه " ينبغي للمجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي أن يعقد، بشكل دوري، اجتماعا خاصا رفيع المستوى في موعد قريب من اجتماعات مؤسسات بريتون وودز نصف السنوية " .

The Committee recommends that the State party adopt legislation, in the light of its general recommendation No. 15 (1993) on organized violence based on ethnic origin, to ensure the full and adequate implementation of article 4 of the Convention in its domestic legal system and provide, in its periodic report, any relevant information on other measures giving effect to this article.
