The Round Table adopted the Madrid Declaration and Plan of Action on strengthening the legal regime against terrorism in West and Central Africa, which specifies concrete measures and steps to be taken by all participating countries at the national level and appropriate joint activities at the subregional level.
واعتمد اجتماع المائدة المستديرة بيان وخطة عمل مدريد بشأن تعزيز النظام القانوني لمكافحة الإرهاب في غرب أفريقيا ووسطها، وتبين هذه الوثيقة التدابير والإجراءات المحددة التي يتعين أن تتخذها جميع الدول المشاركة على الصعيد الوطني والأنشطة المشتركة المناسبة على الصعيد دون الإقليمي.

10. During the year under review, efforts were made by UNODC to draw up frameworks for regional activities under its global project on strengthening the legal regime against terrorism.

Since the launch of the global project on strengthening the legal regime against terrorism in January 2003, the Terrorism Prevention Branch of UNODC has provided support to more than 100 countries either directly or through regional initiatives.

16. UNODC, through its Terrorism Prevention Branch, has conducted numerous counter-terrorism technical assistance activities at the national, subregional and regional levels within the framework of the global project on strengthening the legal regime against terrorism.

Since the start of the global project on strengthening the legal regime against terrorism in January 2003, 77 countries have been provided with direct bilateral technical assistance, which has contributed to an increased number of ratifications and the development of new or revised counterterrorism legislation in at least 29 countries.

13. Adopt the Madrid Declaration on strengthening the legal regime against terrorism in West and Central Africa as well as the Plan of Action set out below for its implementation and proclaim our firm determination to pursue all appropriate measures for its expeditious implementation.
