A dedicated session on national reporting was also included in the agenda of a regional workshop on synergies for parties in the Pacific subregion held from 25 to 29 July 2011, in Suva, Fiji, in cooperation with the South Pacific Regional Environment Programme.
كذلك جرى إدراج جلسة مخصصة بشأن تقديم التقارير الوطنية في جدول أعمال حلقة العمل الإقليمية المتعلقة بأوجه التآزر للأطراف في منطقة المحيط الهادئ شبه الإقليمية، وهي الجلسة التي عقدت خلال الفترة من 25 إلى 29 تموز/يوليه 2011 في سوفا، فيجي، بالتعاون مع البرنامج البيئي الإقليمي لجنوب المحيط الهادئ.

2. Subsequently, informal consultations based on Discussion Paper 1 were held during and after the 2009 Meeting of Experts with a view to elaborate a Guide on national reporting as a handy set of recommendations that would help the High Contracting Parties in collecting and submitting comprehensive information as required under their reporting obligation.

At the request of the Preparatory Committee, the Secretary-General invited Governments to submit to the Secretariat information on implementation of the outcome of the Summit (see annex I). In order to facilitate national reporting as well as to ensure a reasonable degree of comparability and coherence in the presentation of the data, guidelines on national reporting were formulated (see annex I, appendix).
وبناء على طلب اللجنة التحضيرية، دعا الأمين العام الحكومات إلى تزويد الأمانة العامة بمعلومات عن تنفيذ نتائج مؤتمر القمة (انظر المرفق الأول). وصيغت مبادئ توجيهية بشأن تقديم التقارير الوطنية (انظر المرفق الأول، التذييل)، لتيسير تقديم التقارير الوطنية وكفالة درجة معقولة من قابلية البيانات للمقارنة ومن الاتساق في عرضها.

20. In its recommendations for national reporting, the Preparatory Committee stated that the utilization of a set of indicators would create a substantially enhanced capacity to make an accurate description of shelter and urbanization conditions. To facilitate this work, the Preparatory Committee instructed the Secretary-General of the Conference to prepare and submit to all countries a short list of recommended key indicators.
