إعلان وبرنامج عمل طهران بشأن حقوق الإنسان والتنوع الثقافي المعتمدان في الاجتماع الوزاري لحركة عدم الانحياز بشأن حقوق الإنسان والتنوع الثقافي المعقود في طهران في 3 و 4 أيلول/سبتمبر 2007

At the Non-Aligned Movement Ministerial Meeting on Human Rights and Cultural Diversity in the Islamic Republic of Iran, she had pointed out that failure to understand or accommodate diversity inevitably led to an erosion of rights.

His country valued the outcome of the Non-Aligned Movement Ministerial Meeting on Human Rights and Cultural Diversity held in September 2007 and supported the draft resolution.
ويعلّق وفده قيمة كبيرة على نتيجة الاجتماع الوزاري لحركة عدم الانحياز بشأن حقوق الإنسان والتنوع الثقافي الذي عُقد في أيلول/سبتمبر 2007 ويدعم مشروع القرار.

It recalled General Assembly resolution 58/167 of 22 December 2003 on Human Rights and Cultural Diversity which emphasized that the promotion of cultural pluralism and tolerance at the national, regional and international levels is important for enhancing respect for cultural rights and cultural diversity.
وأشار إلى قرار الجمعية العامة للأُمم المتحدة رقم 58/167 المؤرخ 22 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2003 بشأن حقوق الإنسان والتنوع الثقافي والذي شدد على أن تعزيز التعددية الثقافية والتسامح على الأصعدة الوطنية والإقليمية والدولية، يعد هاماً لتعزيز احترام الحقوق الثقافية والتنوع الثقافي.

The information outlined below was provided to the report of the Secretary-General to the General Assembly on Human Rights and Cultural Diversity.
31- قُدّمت المعلومات الموجزة أدناه للتقرير الذي رفعه الأمين العام إلى الجمعية العامة بشأن حقوق الإنسان والتنوع الثقافي(15).

In that regard, it should be noted that the analysis of the Secretary-General in his recent report on Human Rights and Cultural Diversity (A/55/296) lacked a review of the major considerations elaborated in General Assembly resolution 54/140.

In that context he recalled the Non-Aligned Movement Ministerial Meeting on Human Rights and Cultural Diversity held in Tehran, in September 2007. Participants had adopted the Tehran Declaration and Programme of Action on mainstreaming human rights and cultural diversity into the Movement's activities.

Mrs. Serazzi (Chile) (spoke in Spanish): The delegation of Chile, as is our tradition, has once again supported the draft resolution on Human Rights and Cultural Diversity, contained in document A/57/556/Add.2, because our country attaches particular importance to respect for and coexistence of the various cultures that exist on our planet.

Ms. Pérez Álvarez (Cuba) introducing the draft resolution for the first time on behalf of the 118 member countries of the Movement of Non-Aligned Countries, pursuant to the commitment made by their leaders to contribute to the implementation of the Tehran Declaration and Programme of Action on Human Rights and Cultural Diversity, said that the draft resolution would subsequently be presented every two years.

In my capacity as Chair of the Coordinating Bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement, I have the honour to enclose herewith the Tehran Declaration and Programme of Action, adopted at the Non-Aligned Movement Ministerial Meeting on Human Rights and Cultural Diversity, held in Tehran on 3 and 4 September 2007 (see annex).

16. The Secretary-General's report on Human Rights and Cultural Diversity (A/60/340) outlined developments emanating from the Commission's consideration of cultural rights issues, especially with regard to the proposal that the High Commissioner should hold a consultation in 2005 to discuss the possible establishment and terms of reference of a new mandate dealing with cultural diversity, cultural rights and human rights.
