12 - واستعرض الفريق العامل المسائل المتصلة بمسألة الاستعانة بشركات الأمن المسلح والأفراد العاملين فيها، ووضع مشروع سياسة تتوخى وجود إطار واضح في اتخاذ القرارات، وتعالج مسائل المساءلة فيما يتعلق باستعانة الأمم المتحدة بشركات الأمن الخاص المسلح.

13. Following a rigorous process of inter-agency and interdepartmental review, in June 2012, the Inter-Agency Security Management Network adopted a policy and guidelines governing the use of armed private security companies.

14. In September 2012, the High-level Committee on Management endorsed the policy, guidelines, model contract and statement of works on the use of armed private security companies for submission to the United Nations System Chief Executives Board for Coordination in November 2012.

23. The Advisory Committee was provided with detailed information on the use of armed private security companies in the United Nations, which is attached to the present report as annex I with respect to special political missions and as annex II with respect to peacekeeping missions.

The Advisory Committee was informed that the policy, contained in section I of chapter IV on armed private security companies of the United Nations security management system security policy manual, the guidelines on the use of private security services from private security companies and annex A to the guidelines for statement of works, was approved by CEB in November 2012.
