37. At its thirty-second session, the Committee expressed its disappointment at the lack of action taken by the General Assembly at its fifty-ninth session, in 2004, in regard to the Committee's request to put in place short-term measures and a long-term solution that would allow the Committee to implement its responsibilities under the Convention and the Optional Protocol in an effective and timely manner.
