2. On the same day, another formation of four Turkish Air Force aircraft violated Cyprus airspace, entering at 0832 hours the flight information region of Nicosia and exited at 0858 hours.

Today, however, Friday, 21 June, the intensity and the gravity of those violations has been heightened by military planes of the Turkish Air Force flying at low altitude over the inhabited area of Nicosia, at certain points crossing the buffer zone, causing alarm among the local residents and creating an atmosphere of tension.

On that day, at 1220 hours, six Turkish Air Force jet fighters violated the national airspace of the Republic of Cyprus, entering the Nicosia flight information region, flying over the occupied areas of Cyprus without permission and exited at 1232 hours.

On 26 March 1999, 16 military aircraft of the Turkish Air Force (12 F-16, two C-130, one C-160 and one other aircraft of unknown type) entered the Nicosia FIR, violating international air traffic regulations.

On that day, seventeen military aircraft of the Turkish Air Force (twelve F-16, three C-160, one C-650 and one of unidentified type), entered the Nicosia FIR, violating international air traffic regulations.
