The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Slovenia to the United Nations presents its compliments to the Chairman of the Committee, and has the honour to submit the national report of the Republic of Slovenia on the implementation of Security Council resolution 1540 (2004) (see annex).

In March 2003, after several years of disputes over joint exploitation of the nuclear power plant, the Agreement between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Slovenia on the Regulation of the Status and Other Legal Relationships, Connected with Investments in the Krško Nuclear Power Plant, its Exploitation and Decommissioning entered into force.

With respect to the second question submitted by Slovenia, on raising the minimum age for military recruitment to 18, the delegation stated that the age of 16 for recruitment in the case of general mobilization had been established in previous regulations, which San Marino had long planned to change.
21- وفيما يتعلق بالسؤال الثاني المقدم من سلوفينيا بشأن رفع السنّ الدنيا للتجنيد إلى 18 سنة، أشار الوفد إلى أن تحديد سن 16 عاماً للتجنيد في حالة التعبئة العامة نصت عليه لوائح سابقة كانت سان مارينو تعتزم تغييرها منذ مدة طويلة.

On the question by Slovenia on conscientious objectors, the Supreme Court has affirmed that, where conscientious objection can be proved and is distinguished from political motivation or civil disobedience, exemption from army service must be granted.
97- وفيما يتعلق بالسؤال الذي طرحته سلوفينيا بشأن المستنكفين ضميرياً، أكدت المحكمة العليا أنه يجب الإعفاء من الخدمة العسكرية حيث يمكن إثبات الاستنكاف الضميري ويتم تمييزه عن الدوافع السياسية والعصيان المدني.

449. The delegation of Albania stated that recommendation 13 by the United States of America on the media monitoring body had been accepted, as well as recommendations 9 by Belgium and 11 by Slovenia on the independence of the judiciary.
