The establishment of the Asset Recovery Inter-Agency Network of Southern Africa (ARINSA), a regional network which supports operational work in asset recovery and confiscation, was facilitated by UNODC, as was the regional asset recovery network established by GAFISUD countries.

34. UNODC is also supporting the development and operation of two asset forfeiture mechanisms: the Asset Recovery Network of Southern Africa and the Asset Recovery Network of the Financial Action Task Force of South America against Money-Laundering.

UNODC also conducted a regional training event, held in Pretoria on 15 and 16 November 2012, entitled " Taking the proceeds from crime " for the member States of the Asset Recovery Inter-Agency Network of Southern Africa, which included specific training on mutual legal assistance and highlighted the importance of regional and international cooperation.
كما عقد تدريباً إقليمياً في بريتوريا يومي 15 و16 تشرين الثاني/ نوفمبر 2012 للدول الأعضاء في شبكة الجنوب الأفريقي المشتركة بين الوكالات لاسترداد الموجودات تحت عنوان " استرداد عائدات الجريمة " ، تضمّن تدريباً متخصّصاً حول المساعدة القانونية المتبادلة وأكّد على أهمية التعاون الإقليمي والدولي.

The observer noted that the activities and successes of CARIN had inspired the establishment of other regional networks, such as the Asset Recovery Inter-Agency Network of Southern Africa and the Inter-Agency Asset Recovery Network of GAFISUD.
