20. Both the Covenant and the Convention on the Rights of the Child, to which the Islamic Republic of Iran is a State party, prohibit the imposition of the death penalty for crimes committed by persons below 18 years of age.
20- ويحظر كل من العهد واتفاقية حقوق الطفل اللذين انضمت إليهما جمهورية إيران الإسلامية، فرض عقوبة الإعدام على الجرائم التي يرتكبها من هم دون 18 عاماً.

The Committee is particularly concerned about the applicability of the death penalty for crimes committed by children aged 16 and 17 years of age and emphasizes that such a penalty is in violation with article 37 (a) of the Convention.

29. In light of articles 6 and 37 (a) of the Convention, the Committee is seriously disturbed at the applicability of the death penalty for crimes committed by persons under 18 and emphasizes that such a penalty is incompatible with the Convention.
29- وفي ضوء المادتين 6 و37(أ) من الاتفاقية، تشعر اللجنة ببالغ الانزعاج من إمكانية تطبيق عقوبة الإعدام على الجرائم التي يرتكبها أشخاص دون سن 18 عاماً، وتؤكد أن مثل هذه العقوبة تتعارض مع أحكام الاتفاقية.

329. The Committee urges the State party to amend its Penal Law in accordance with article 37 (a), and to abolish by law the imposition of the death penalty for crimes committed by persons under 18 years of age and replace the already issued death sentences for children under 18 with a sanction in accordance with the Convention.
329- عملاً بأحكام المادة 37(أ)، تحث اللجنة الدولة الطرف على أن تعدِّل قانون العقوبات وأن تلغي بموجب القانون عقوبة الإعدام على الجرائم التي يرتكبها أشخاص دون الثامنة عشرة من العمر وأن تستعيض عن عقوبة الإعدام المفروضة على أطفال دون الثامنة عشرة بعقوبة تتماشى وأحكام الاتفاقية.

" (i) To end the imposition of the death penalty for crimes committed by persons under the age of 18, in particular in accordance with the obligations it has assumed, to ensure that capital punishment will not be imposed for crimes other than the

(b) To end all summary and arbitrary executions and the imposition of the death penalty for crimes committed by persons under the age of 18 years, and to ensure that capital punishment will not be imposed for crimes other than the most serious and will not be pronounced in disregard of the obligations it has assumed under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the provisions of the United Nations safeguards;
(ب) أن توقف جميع حالات الإعدام بإجراءات موجزة والإعدام التعسفي وتوقيع عقوبة الإعدام على الجرائم التي يرتكبها الأشخاص دون 18 من العمر، وأن تكفل عدم توقيع عقوبة الإعدام إلا على أشد الجرائم خطورة وعدم إصدار الحكم بالإعدام دون مراعاة الالتزامات التي تعهدت بها بموجب العهد الدولي الخاص بالحقوق المدنية والسياسية والأحكام التي نصت عليها ضمانات الأمم المتحدة؛
