Implementation By a letter received on 13 August 2003, the Government of India submitted an application for the placement of new entries regarding plastic-coated cable scrap in Annex VIII and Annex IX. That application was circulated as an information document to the Open-ended Working Group at its second session in October 2003.

With regard to the question of the abandonment of ships on land or in ports, the Joint Working Group recommended that the information provided in the note circulated by the IMO secretariat at the first session of the Joint Working Group should be considered by the Open-ended Working Group at its fourth session. This note has been circulated to the Open-ended Working Group as document UNEP/CHW/OEWG/4/INF/3.
