After considerations among the members of the Security Council, it was agreed to elect the Chairman of the following Committee for the period ending 31 December 2012:
بعد المشاورات التي جرت في ما بين أعضاء مجلس الأمن، تم الاتفاق على انتخاب رئيس اللجنة التالية للفترة المنتهية في 31 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2012:

Following consultations among the members of the Security Council, the members agreed to elect the Chairman of the following committee for the period ending 31 December 2006:

نحن نرى أن الاستعداد للانتخابات الرئاسية القادمة يشكل فرصة طيبة للتوافق بين اللبنانيين على انتخاب رئيس وفقا للقواعد الدستورية وبعيدا عن التدخل الأجنبي، وبما يحفظ مصلحة لبنان وعلاقاته العربية.

The practice of dispensing with the secret ballot for elections to subsidiary organs when the number of candidates corresponds to the number of seats to be filled should become standard and the same practice should apply to the election of the President and Vice-Presidents of the General Assembly, unless a delegation specifically requests a vote on a given election.
