3.1 The author claims that the ill-treatment he was submitted to by the investigating officer, in order to induce him to sign a confession of guilt, constitutes a violation of articles 7, 10, paragraph 1, and 14, paragraph 3 (g), of the Covenant.

6.6 With respect to the claim of a violation of article 14, paragraph 3 (g), the Committee considers that as the author himself admits to having had counsel assist him in preparing and making his confession, he has failed to substantiate his claim that he was forced to sign a confession.

7.4 Furthermore, as regards the claim of a violation of the author's rights under article 14, paragraph 3 (g), in that he was forced to sign a confession, the Committee must consider the principles that underlie this guarantee.

11-6 ورغم أن صاحبة البلاغ لم تقدم تفاصيل ولا حججاً تدعم كل مادة من المواد المستشهد بها، فإن الوقائع على النحو الذي عرضته تطرح مسائل ذات علاقة بالفقرة 3 من المادة 2؛ والمادة 7؛ والمادة 10 والفقرة 3(ز) من المادة 14 من العهد، فيما يتصل بجاك تشيتي الذي اعتُقل وادعي تعرضه للتعذيب على يد عملاء الدولة وأُجبر على توقيع اعتراف.
