The Greater Amman Municipality began to provide the national capital with many services, such as road maintenance, the construction of bridges and tunnels, road system management, street cleaning, and cultural services such as the erection of libraries, the establishment of public parks and so on.
وبدأت أمانة عمان الكبرى في تقديم خدمات كثيرة للعاصمة عمان كصيانة الطرق وإقامة الجسور والأنفاق وإدارة الطرق والنظافة والخدمات الثقافية كبناء المكتبات وبناء الحدائق وغيرها، كما تبنت مشروع حماية الطفل.

The Greater Amman Municipality contends that as a consequence of the permanent settlement of a large proportion of returnees in Amman, the population of Amman increased by 123,650 people in 1990 whereas prior thereto the average annual increase was approximately 40,000 people.
