41. In its reply of 1 June 1995, the Cook Islands informed the Secretary-General that its Government had taken measures to prevent large-scale pelagic drift-net fishing operations on the high seas by ratifying the Convention for the Prohibition of Fishing with Long Drift-nets in the South Pacific (Wellington Convention) on 24 January 1990.
١٤ - وقد أبلغت جزر كوك اﻷمين العام في ردها المؤرخ ١ حزيران/يونيه ١٩٩٥ أن حكومتها قد اتخذت تدابير لمنع عمليات صيد السمك بالشباك البحرية العائمة الكبيرة في أعالي البحار وذلك بالتصديق على الاتفاقية المتعلقة بحظر صيد السمك بالشباك العائمة الطويلة في جنوب المحيط الهادئ )اتفاقية ولينغتون( في ٢٤ كانون الثاني/يناير ١٩٩٠.
