On 6 and 7 August 2000 in Tbilisi, and again on 20 August in Sukhumi, my Special Representative chaired consultations between the Georgian Minister for Special Affairs, Malkhaz Kakabadze and Anri Jergenia, the personal representative of Abkhaz leader Vladislav Ardzinba, on the basis of the Protocol signed on 11 July 2000 at the tenth session of the Coordinating Council of the Georgian and Abkhaz sides in Sukhumi (see S/2000/697, para. 8).
