In 2004 the Special Representative on human rights defenders following her mission to Thailand in 2003 recommended that the Government reassess its approach to the right to protest and freedom of assembly and adopt a policy that ensures a just balance between respect for the right to peaceful protest and the maintenance of public order; and consider the publication of a report indicating action to address the recommendations made.
56- وفي عام 2004، أوصت المقررة الخاصة المعنية بالمدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان، عَقِب بعثتها إلى تايلند في عام 2003، بأن تُعيد الحكومة تقييم نهجها المتعلق بحق الاحتجاج وحرية التجمع، وبأن تعتمد سياسة تكفل توازناً عادلاً بين احترام الحق في الاحتجاج السلمي والمحافظة على النظام العام(152)؛ وأوصت كذلك بالنظر في إصدار تقرير يشير إلى الإجراء المُتخذ لتنفيذ التوصيات المقدَّمة(153).
